Just skimmed over the rules. One question: How do we explain the ability of a force with fewer models being able to activate more than once when fighting a larger force? If we reason that a small force is easier to command then two small forces should get the same ability to activate multiple times. Any ideas behind this?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hi Bruce,
ReplyDeleteThe rule is actually for larger forces;
"If one player has completed all his activations and the other player still has several units left to activate, that player may activate each of their remaining units in turn. However, each additional activation becomes more difficult. Roll a D6 for each unit and compare the result to the table:
First additional activation: 4+
Second additional activation: 5+
Each additional activation thereafter: 6+"
This is simply a mechanic to try and keep things more balanced. The new version of the rules, due to be released at the end of this month, will address this further by introducing a unit limit for different points values.
Think of it as it being more difficult to co-ordinate a larger force to respond to a smaller force.
